Share your wisdom and build your legacy

In my years as a manager, then management consultant, I read a lot of leadership and management books (and wrote a couple too). After a while I noticed that the books that were most powerful and relevant were those written by practitioners – those who worked at the proverbial coal face, dealt with the hard issues and navigated their way through multiple challenges. These were the stories that stayed with me and which rang true – far more so than those written by academics and theoreticians.

In the years since I've come to realise how much wisdom lies in the minds of business owners and operators, CEOs and other senior managers and executives. And how much of that wisdom and expertise sadly retires with those people. In the meantime a new generation of managers arrives and ends up re-learning all the lessons (and making many of the mistakes) themselves.

My book would not have come together in the time and quality without the enormous support from David.

It doesn't need to be that way. It only takes a few interviews and a bit of time and I can capture your expertise and convert it into an engaging and highly valuable manuscript that tells the story of your career, which can then be turned into a book.

(And by the way, if you think you don't have much to say, in my experience you are more than likely wrong!)

Once we've got your book finished, you can then use it in any way you wish. Give it to clients and colleagues, sell it when you get opportunities to speak (or use it to get opportunities to speak) or even, if your tale is fascinating enough, seek conventional trade publishing opportunities.

prefer to do your own writing?

If you have the time and inclination to write, or at least draft, your own book, then I'm more than happy to help you through the process.

The level of my involvement can be as much as or as little as you require in order to get the job done – whether it is just a regular coach-style prod to keep things moving, or a more formal project management role.

If you've already made a start on your book and just want some general advice on the publishing process, I'm more than happy to help with that too. Just give me a call or email.
